Do you want to know how to wear Ugg boots? Simple – by adopting the spirit of their origins. And no, that doesn’t mean walk around half naked and dripping wet from a surfing session – or whatever. It means that they were designed for warmth and comfort – i.e. they’re meant to be worn with an untailored, unfussy and, most of all, casual look.
They were never designed as a fashion must-have. They were designed for something far more basic. The warming of cold feet.
How To Wear Ugg Boots

It’s a fact that how to wear Ugg boots is an oft searched for query. For some reason, these sheepskin boots seem to fox a fair few women. They’re not a pretty looking boot, nor could they be classed as hot – but they are trendy, popular and remain, for whatever reason, ‘all the rage’.
But there is no secret sauce when it comes to wearing them. They really were designed for keeping feet warm. They’re not a new fangled piece of sheepskin footwear, purely designed for fashion purposes. Instead, they were designed to be functional and user friendly.
And that’s the easiest way of wearing them – casually. And add a little pinch of joie de vivre and you’re most certainly on the right track. Oh … and don’t forget to look you know … unassuming eh? Ugg boots are kinda ugly and there’s no point trying to look cool and/or well tailored in them.
The thing is, you need to wear your Ugg boots in a way that makes you feel comfortable. They’re not to everyone’s taste and I’ve had a friend or two raise an eyebrow at mine.
But – they could raise both eyebrows in unison and I’d still wear them. And that because I happen to like them. They’re kooky, different and best of all they don’t have a heel.
And for me, that’s a huge plus. I rarely if ever fall over in flat anything so as far as I’m concerned, Uggs will always have one upmanship on anything with a heel underneath it.

Generally, sheepskin boots can be worn with any of the following:
- skinny jeans
- any jeans providing they’re not overly flared
- leggings – again, any will work, pretty much
- if you’re young and cute, try them with some shorts – if it’s winter, shorts made of a thicker fabric and some cool tights
And what you shouldn’t wear them with:
- anything tailored. Trust me, going to work wearing your standard office garb with a pair of Uggs on the end of your legs does not look good
- short mini skirts
- pink. Anything pink … and that includes buying Ugg boots in pink too
